Russian owned company Headsprings Investments, a subsidiary of Uranium One, has called on the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform to include In-Situ Recovery (ISR) mining experts at a consultation meeting on uranium mining in the Stampriet Artesian Basin.
The meeting is scheduled for next week at Mariental.
The company made this call on Thursday in an open letter to the Cabinet, members of parliament, standing committees, regional governors, councillors, traditional authorities and the public.
Headspring Investments expressed its appreciation for the initiative and commended agriculture minister Calle Schlettwein’s efforts in bringing together relevant stakeholders.
“We value the opportunity to share our expertise and insights on ISR mining,” noted the company.
