The events keep on coming

As we stay committed to keeping you informed and entertained all together, here is a list of events happening in and around the country over the next few days.

Catch the 2024 Namibia Mining Expo and Conference by the Chamber of Mines from today at The Windhoek Showgrounds where they’ll be showcasing fuel storage and management, oil and lubricant solutions.

Tonight, the Anchen Wille Dance Academy will put on their Alice in Wonderland recital at the National Theatre of Namibia.

Tickets are N$200 for the 19h00 billing. Subsequent shows will occur on Friday, 9 August, as well as next week on the 15th and 16th.

Tomorrow, 9 August, is The Perfect Pair: Whiskey Meets Chocolate at Hotel Thuringhof for N$270 per person. The event starts at 18h00.

Starting today and running till Saturday, 10 August, is the Biomass Fair at Otjiwarongo. Starting with a conference and networking event on day one, this event is open to all interested in innovating for a greener future.

Pop bottles this weekend with local MCC brand RaZul and their Evening of a RaZul Experience at Anna’s Kloovenburg on Saturday. Tickets are going for N$750 per person for the networking event.

On Saturday from 10h00 is Barbara Böhlke’s The Time Between art exhibition at The Project Room at Julius Nyerere Street in Windhoek.

If you don’t want to see some art, why not create your own at the Sip and Paint evening session that same night at The Villa Cafe? A N$350 entitles you to three drinks, a small platter, a canvas and some paint.

Every Monday, join in on Vinyls Cafe’s game night, hosted by El Micah. They bring some fun and flair to the Windhoek nightlife scene, so get in the spirit of competition and play along!

Every Wednesday you can also learn to dance kizomba and semba at The Wine Bar and Restaurant or you could sing your lungs out at Mynt Nightclub’s popular karaoke night.

Every week, Kings Lounge will host Friday Night Lights with Shox and Stizzo on the decks, while Tipsy Rabbit hole will host TGIFRIDAY with Sebby Ngeteya providing the sounds.

The flowers will be budding soon! Why not not Welcome Spring with The Wine Shop on Friday, 23 August? Entrance is N$220 per person.

ZR Ballet Studio is bringing ‘Coppelia’ by Robin van Wyk to the National Theatre of Namibia from 29 August, at 19h00. Tickets are going for N$220 per person at Pick n Pay and N$250 at the door. There will be more recitals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Looking ahead, Gospel Care Ministry will present the Gospel Extravaganza, a worship music showcase with Ruben Davids, Julie May, Collective Singers and others at Pentecostal Protestant Church on Sunday, 1 September. Entry is N$100 for adults and N$50 for children.

On 20 September, the Shivute shaNdjongolo Living Museum will host the Cultural Heritage Talent show at Oniipa, Onethindi. If you are a poet, singer or craft artist in the heritage sector, sign up by 31 August for N$100.
