The Art of Nudity with Julia Hango
John-Colin Namene July 5, 2024
Visual and performance artist Nakashwa Julia ya Hango is pushing the boundaries as an artist in a conservative landscape. Julia Nakashwa ya Hango, widely known as JuliArt once described herself as an old soul living inside a modern body.
The artist is a mother, a healer, a naturist, and her work has been influenced by the intricate relationship between the human body and the human experience.
The human form, with its sensual curves and poetic beauty, was a central theme in her art.
She says that nudity has always been a powerful form of expression in the visual arts and for her, the naked body is the ultimate symbol of truth and vulnerability.
By using her own body in her art, she aims to challenge and inspire others to see the beauty in themselves and others, without the masks that society often forced people to wear.
And she joins us in the studio to speak about nudism as a form of art, expression and healing.
