Auas Primary School, located in a predominantly Damara/Nama area, allegedly tried to remove Khoekhoegowab—a vital language for the Namakhoen and ǂNūkhoen—replacing it with Oshikwanyama, sparked outrage among parents.
The Ministry of Education launched an investigation into claims of cultural erosion and unfair hiring practices, including allegations of teachers paying up to N$30,000 for positions.
