The Executive Chairperson of the Agnes Tjongarero-installed National Youth Council (NYC) interim board, Beverly Silas-Garas, has faced significant challenges in carrying out her duties amidst ongoing court battles and street protests. Silas-Garas recently filed an urgent application in the Windhoek High Court seeking an order to prevent three youth leaders from intimidating staff and disrupting operations at the NYC headquarters. Her appointment, however, has been met with resistance from several young leaders who argue that the minister lacked the authority to establish the interim board.
