Namibia’s women’s team made history by storming into the quarterfinals of the Indoor Hockey World Cup for the first time ever with a dominant 7-0 victory over New Zealand in Poreč yesterday.
With Germany also securing a 7-0 win against Australia, both teams now sit atop the standings with six points each, sealing their places in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Namibia’s men’s team, which reached the quarterfinals in 2023, kept their hopes alive with a 6-3 victory over Trinidad and Tobago. However, they must defeat Australia in their final pool match today to guarantee a spot in the knockout stage once again.
