Another round of talks on the Congo conflict is set to take place in Dar es Salaam from February 7 to 8, bringing together SADC and East African heads of state just days after an extraordinary summit in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) recently suffered a major setback, losing the strategic eastern city of Goma to M23 rebels. The rebels repelled an attack by South African forces, resulting in the deaths of 14 soldiers. The fall of Goma has escalated tensions, sparking a war of words between South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who has been accused of supporting the M23 rebels. To provide an analysis on this, we are joined by political analyst Ndumba Kamwanya.
