Bank of Namibia Cut Repo Rate to 6.75% in Measured Policy Easing

he Bank of Namibia’s Monetary Policy Committee decided to continue easing policy in a measured way by lowering the Repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.75 percent, with immediate effect. Four members voted in favor of the reduction, while two preferred to keep it unchanged. As a result, commercial banks were expected to lower their lending rates by 25 basis points, bringing the prime rate to 10.50 percent. To unpack this, we were joined by Dr. Omu Kakujaha Matundu.
