Activists Demand ACC Accountability Amid Gobabis Water Crisis

Activists are demanding answers on how the Anti-Corruption Commission is responding to complaints in local authorities. This was expressed in the form of a petition handed to the director of the anti-corruption commission this morning, representing Windhoek ratepayers and residents, Gobabis rate payers and the Right to Shelter Group, as well as the Okahandja concerned group and ratepayers. At the same time Water rationing in Gobabis continues as dam and borehole levels remain critically low, affecting supply to residents. Gobabis Mayor Melba Tjozongoro confirmed the situation in an interview with nbc News, stating that water is available daily from 03:00 to 21:00, and residents are urged to use it sparingly we were joined by Mokaleng Kuzeeko from the Gobabis ratepayers.
