The curtains are now down for the world’s prestigious sporting extravaganza, the Paris 2024 Olympics.
There have been highs and lows from the very start to the end marked by thrilling displays of sportsmanship as well as controversies.
Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo shot to stardom with his brilliant 200m race upsetting America’s Noa Lyls to clinch gold.
Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon has also been another highlight after she breezed to a record breaking record in a 1500m race.
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defied a major gender controversy to also win gold on Friday in front of a pulsating Roland Garros crowd that roared her to victory.
In the meantime Namibia saw Helalia Johannes clinch the 68th position in the women’s marathon at the Paris Olympic Games.
Namibia’s Phillip Seidler also withdrew from the men’s 10km swimming marathon on lap 4 of the six-lap race. Kristof Rasovsky of Hungary won the race followed by Oliver Klemet of Germany and David Betlehem of Hungary.
Now for a look at the entire Olympics Games in retrospect we are joined by coach Henk Botha who is in the US and journalist Hesron Kapanga right here in Namibia
