Nedbank invests N$680 000 in bursary programmes
Written by on May 6, 2024
Nedbank Namibia awarded bursaries worth N$680 000 to a total of 21 students through its 2024 bursary programme, the largest-ever investment in bursaries aimed at supporting both internal and external students pursuing higher education.
After a rigorous selection process, students were chosen based on their field of study and academic skills.
From the 21 bursary recipients, nine were external students.
These students are currently studying towards qualifications in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, law, accounting, commerce and business management.
“From a Nedbank perspective, it’s important for us to give back to the community by creating opportunities for the youth, who are the future leaders, to develop themselves. This is a call to action for each student to participate with dedication and commitment, because it will not be an easy road, but one’s perseverance and belief to make it through this journey are worthwhile,” Nedbank’s executive for human capital, Bianca Muller, says.
On the successful completion of their studies, bursary recipients will receive mentorship from Nedbank experts for the purpose of honing their acquired knowledge and contributing to the success of the bank.
“We believe in the power of education to unlock potential and drive positive change, and this record investment in bursaries shows our commitment to investing in people and communities, empowering individuals to realise their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society,” Muller says.
