Grootfontein postpones debt-collection services

The acting chief executive of the Grootfontein Municipality, Indileni Lungameni, has announced that the municipality would postpone the implementation of debt-collection services by RedForce Debt Management.
“This notice therefore serves to inform the public that the council has put on hold the debt-collection services (RedForce Debt Management), until further notice,” Lungameni says.
He says the decision was made “pending the finalisation of internal processes”.
The debt-collection agency was originally scheduled to start operating on 1 May, the acting chief executive says.
Lungameni encourages defaulters to make arrangements with the town’s finance department.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available,” he says.
