Body discovered on electricity tower

Residents of Khomasdal in Windhoek were left in shock on Wednesday morning upon discovering the body of an unidentified man on top of a NamPower electricity pole.
Police chief inspector Katrina Naukushu has confirmed the incident.
She said the man was discovered by a passer-by at around 07h00, who then alerted the police.
Police investigations are ongoing.
“It was observed that the body is of a male person who was wearing blue jogging pants and a black jersey, with both the jersey and pants having white stripes on it.
“The body has not been identified yet, and next of kin not informed. The motive is not known, and investigation continues,” the police said.
In a separate incident, a man (26) took his life at Havana in Windhoek on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the weekend crime report, the man’s body was discovered by his mother.
“No suicide note was left behind, and no foul play is suspected,” the report states.
According to a cousin of the man, he looked unwell upon returning from work on Tuesday.
The mans’ next of kin have been informed of the incident.
