Ruto rejects controversial bill as 23 protestors die in Kenya

Kenyan president William Ruto has rejected a controverial finance bill that has been resisted by the country’s young people, leaving 23 dead on the streets of Nairobi.
He sent it back to the National Assembly for amendments only after former president Uhuru Kenyatta called for the government to listen to the concerns of the youth and desist from the use of force.
On Tuesday the Kenyan police opened fire on young protestors when several of them stormed the parliament just after lawmakers voted for tax increases to raise US$2,7 billion.
