Over 85 000 boys and men have been circumcised under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) project.
The VMMC project has been running since 2009, and the government’s goal is to circumcise 90% of the priority group of males aged 15 to 29 by 2028.
This was revealed last Friday by US embassy spokesperson Tiffany Miller.
Miller says the VMMC outreach campaign has successfully reached out to pupils and community members living in remote areas, bringing much-needed medical attention and support to those who need it most.
The campaign is currently taking place in the Kavango West and East regions and will continue to other regions, she says.
