Written by on June 14, 2024

Nampower, through its foundation, has invested over N$1,2 million in improving the learning environment for pupils in the Omaheke region.

According to a recent statement issued by the company, the funds were used to renovate facilities and provide new equipment at Motsomi Primary School and C Heuva Secondary School.

Motsomi Primary School, which has 392 pupils in its hostel, received an upgrade to its laundry facilities.

“The laundry room was renovated and an industrial washing machine and tumble dryer were installed,” noted the statement.

Previously, all laundry at the school was done by hand.

Principal Magreth Gaowetse said the renovation was a much needed burden lifted.

The funds for C Heuva Secondary School went into upgrading the school’s laboratory.

“This is to equip the pupils with the necessary computer literacy skills required in today’s digital age,” NamPower noted.

NamPower Foundation Advisory Committee chairperson Simeon Amunkente said the funds are not just for equipment but an investment into human potential.

“As we hand over these facilities today, let us remember that it is not just about bricks and mortar, hammer and saw, it is about investing in human potential,” said Amunkete.
