Seibeb unaware of new chief whip appointment

Landless People’s Movement (LPM) former chief whip Henny Seibeb was on Tuesday not aware that he had been replaced by member of parliament Utaara Mootu.
Seibeb said he has not received any notice of being removed from his position.
“I learned about it on social media after someone sent me an Instagram screenshot that Mootu is the new chief whip,” he said.
LPM spokesperson Lifalaza Simataa on Tuesday confirmed Mootu’s appointment, which he said was made by the party’s top six leaders, of which Seibeb is one.
Simataa said the decision emanates from the policy conference the party held last year to allow young people to serve in pivotal positions.
“Henny is a professional leader, and he maintains his position as deputy leader,” he said.
Utaara said her appointment is an indication that the LPM is taking its mandate to empower young people seriously.
