The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) celebrated its 15-year anniversary in Windhoek on Monday.
During the event, the NSI highlighted continued efforts in maintaining the national quality infrastructure.
The NSI also launched its Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP) for 2024-2028 titled: ‘A Roadmap That Will Guide the Institution’s Efforts in the Coming Years’.
NSI chief executive Eino Mvula thanked all stakeholders for playing a role in the institution’s success.
“I would also like to applaud the continued support we get from the government, through the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, the private sector, Development Capital Portfolio and all esteemed stakeholders,” said Mvula.
He highlighted the importance of the ISBP and how the NSI intends to use the plan to support the Namibian industry.
“The ISBP defines the future of the NSI. [It] ensures that we align with our national priorities and the Namibia Standards Council. NSI management envisioned this renewal as an opportunity to provide an enhanced service portfolio, which will enable us to support the Namibian industry to grow in a sustainable fashion.”
The event coincided with the commemoration of World Metrology Day, celebrated globally on 20 May.
