Tensions are rising in Otweya as 27 residents, who were given houses in 2021 after the devastating Twaloloka fire, are now facing eviction.

The residents say they were blindsided by claims that they were occupying the homes illegally—a shocking revelation made in a 2023 meeting.

Now, after receiving fresh eviction notices from the government attorney’s office, they are demanding answers.
