Flood victims struggle to get to school
March 11, 2025
The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement has held engagements with children and their families who were affected by the recent floods in Windhoek, particularly those living at temporary relocation sites, to better understand their pressing needs.
AR Khomas Chairperson, Sam David, says it has become clear that many learners are unable to continue their education due to a lack of transportation to their respective schools.
He explains that parents, already burdened by the economic and emotional strain of relocation, are unable to afford the daily transport costs.
As a result, AR has written to the City of Windhoek, requesting assistance to support the affected learners.
