Concerns have been mounting over a four-day water disruption in Lüderitz, which began on Thursday.
The town has been grappling with frequent and unplanned water and electricity outages, a situation that has worsened as more people flock to Lüderitz in search of job opportunities in the green hydrogen and oil sectors. The rising demand for resources has put increasing pressure on the town’s infrastructure, leaving residents frustrated by the continued disruptions.
On Thursday, Lüderitz Mayor Phil Balhao took to social media to address the issue, revealing that NamWater had identified a faulty release valve on the reservoir supplying the town.
