It all seems to be coming together. Our first woman president elect being announced right in the middle of this years 16 Days of Activism campaign and at a time when Namibia’s sexual and gender based violence cases are extremely high – from child marriages, to human trafficking including an alarming rate of femicide.

With a woman in this position of power, could this mean that our celebrated policies put in place to protect women and children against violence would be more vigorously implemented?

Could this mean that the mindset might change as to how vulnerable citizens in our country are viewed?
