The company from which the ministry of defence and veteran affairs procured a part of a military vehicle… has come out to claim that one of its employees was forced to FORGE an invoice.The ministry is in the middle of a storm after documents emerged… showing the ministry bought ONE car part for 8-million-Namibian-dollarThe expose was made by Job Amupanda of the Affirmative Repositioning Movement. Initially, the ministry, at a press conference, accused the AR of seeking to score cheap political goals ahead of the elections. The ministry’s executive director, Wilhelmina Shivute, came out with guns blazing  to specifically respond to Amupanda’s claims. She confirmed that the 8-million-dollar payment she approved… was to procure parts for the servicing of about 14 vehicles that were used for the bilateral Peace Support Training Exercise between Namibia and Botswana, code-named ‘Exercise Hanganee. But emails emerged over the weekend to the effect that an employee was forced to forge an invoice to appear as if the ministry had procured several parts, making a lot of Namibians to call for heads to roll at the ministry. To make sense of it all, we were joined by Advocate John Walters who during his tenure as Ombudsman struggled to get the company audited
