Nangolo Mbumba’s First Six Months in Office
John-Colin Namene August 5, 2024
President Nangolo Mbumba has now effectively spent half a year in office as the president of the country after the death of President Hage Geingob.
Mbumba continues to steer the country towards a democratic transition set for 27 November when Namibia goes to the poll to elect a new president.
Mbumba himself has refused to run, and has been working on various projects left by his predecessor, chiefly the Green Hydrogen Project as well as consulting on genocide matters.
But how have the first six months been for a president who said he would not rock the boat?
John Colin-Namene unpacks this conversation.
